Framing a Subject Jan. 21st 2020

For this week I chose to do "Framing a subject." Looking through each article. This one on top described everything so easy and it was easy to understand. When looking over the article I read about, "giving the photo context, giving images a sense of depth and layers, leading the eye towards your main focal point," and in general stuff like that. As I was reading over the depth and layers

I knew I wanted to take the photo outside with leafs and trees. The Article desribes the depth and layering as, " (in essence framing a shot generally puts something in the foreground which adds an extra dimension to the shot)," and I thought this really helped wrapping my head around the idea. Here, "Frames for photographs come in all shapes and sizes and can include shooting through overhanging branches, shooting through windows, using tunnels, arches or doorways," this really helped me come up with my idea for the photo which my friend Caroline took.

1. For this photo I chose to take it in portrait because it really helped capture the face and make it a bit more clear.

2. I feel like the composition of this was pretty good and center, In the background though you can see bars and I wish I either took it out in Photoshop or get a different angle.

3. I thought these photographers were taken really good.

4. If I could change anything, I would probably wanna change the position of my body ad take of bars and other distractions in the back of the photo.

5. I am not really sure if It should, the video really helped me take these photos but I feel like I would want a little more work done on it and then it would be good.

Nothingness Photoshop Assignment  Jan. 9th 2020

In the article that was given to us, I really enjoyed looking through all the different and cool ways you can photoshop pictures. I never realized how many cool and interesting things you can do with photoshop. In one of the videos, I loved looking at the double exposure video, I thought that was really cool.

I also loved looking at the video on how to make colors strand out. I feel I will be using this technique and this video on other pictures I have taken. So all those videos on the site really helped me figure out what to do and I learned some new and cool stuff.

Large Animal Photoshop Assignment  Jan.14th 2020

In this photo that I edited, I took a picture of the Big Ben Clock and combined an ant in with it. I added an ant in this photo because it's not something normal that you would see everyday a giant ant walking on a clack. This assignment was really fun to make and come up with and I think it's one of my favorites to do.

Coming up with this was somewhat easy, to make this picture come alive, I had to change the hue and the brightness on the ant to make it not standout as much as it did before. Adding the ant in was kinda hard because i had to see where I had to put the ant and I had to put it in the right spot, if it was messed up just by the slightest it would be messed up. When I was finished and I was all done, I loved how it turned out and It was really fun.

Another some of my favorites:

For this weeks photo assignment I chose to do shadows. Viewing the mulitpule signs online, one of them really caught my eye. This one here, https://www.discoverdigitalphotography.com/2014/shadow-photography-tips-fun-with-shadows/  was really amazing. On the second photo it caught my eye. It was a little boy looking like he was about to sleigh a dragon and I thought that was really interesting and unique. When looking at this signs, I found many cool and different ways to do scary shadows. I didn't go for a scary shadow for my assignment but I used some cool tricks for it.

"You will need a subject that is not a shadow (typically a person) for the shadow to play off against. This also gives a sense of scale to the shadow. You also need a relatively plain, flat wall that the shadow can be cast onto. The larger the wall, the larger you'll be able to make your scary shadow." This really helped me truly think about the emotion in the shadows I also took with savannah. When I was taking her photos, I wanted her to put the branches on her head so it would look some what like an animal, and I thought it was fun and unique.

Before
After

When deciding on doing this assignment, I know I wanted to do two photos because I really liked doing this assignment. I chose one of them as a painting so I chose this Japanese painting that I thought went well with the lighhouse assignment. I thought the process of making this photo was pretty easy. Just figuring out the layering with the photo was quite tricky for me and I messed up a couple times. Viewing the article helped me a bit when I was clicking on the "Convert To Smart Filters" and that helped the process go more smoothly because before I was not even using the article for help or the video. In the end, I thought this assignment was fun but frustrating because I kept on messing up and the article helped me fix my problems.

Looking through the article, It showed many differnet and unique photos and gave me many ideas on hoot do this assignment. Since I really wanted something to deal with photoshop, i decided to look through the internet to find some cool images. I decided to go on to Pinterest and I used this photo of this man. When shooting for this assignment, it was actually really easy. What I did, is that I took a tripod and set it up and positioned it where I wanted to take the photo, then I took the photo, then I moved my friend savannah into the frame and she unbuttoned a flannel so later i could photo shop the tree in her stomach. This assignment was really fun and I learned another way of layering images.

Create Your Own World Assignment

This was by far the most fun I have had in one of these photoshop assignments. After getting inspiration on Pinterest I decided to come up with this idea.I wanted to add in a piece of art into my photo. I also wanted to add something memorizing, and I came up with this. After reading the artcle and after watching the videos I thought they helped on giving others an idea on what to do on this. I did learn in photoshop how to use different layers and how to make photoshopping easier. In one of the videos, like this one here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2ynIic7_iU I got to see the layering on how they did each part and it really helped when I wanted to add a photo behind the window so It would be way easier.

Double Exposure March 3rd 2020
Portraits Revised Feb. 27th 2020

When doing this assignment for this week I looked at this article here...

http://thinkartmakeart.com/portemotion.htm. This article really helped me think about what positions I wanted my models to do. In the first photo I know I wanted to do something with love so I cut out hearts on a piece of scrap paper and casted a shadow of hearts onto my model. I made my model laugh and positioned her behind cherry blossoms and then BOOM, I got my photo. For my other photo, I wanted my model to have the emotion of anger or irritation, so I positioned my model behind something red to make the photo come out more as angry to help her expression on her face, then I snapped the photo and BOOM!

Color Hunt March 10th 2020
Background:             Model:                      Final Product:

For this weeks assignment I did Double Exposure. When doing this assignment, I found it quite hard for me to do. Usually Photo Shop assignments are really hard for me to do so I asked my friend Caroline for help on some parts. Reading Over the articles given, I found this this one here...

https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/make-a-trendy-double-exposure-effect-in-adobe-photoshop--cms-23774 gave me a really god example on how to do this assignment. Reading the article, I figured outlaw to adjust my photos. Using contrast and exposure on the photos really helped bring out the model in my photo. The bottom 2 rows were the ones I was practicing on because I just pulled images from off the internet. The top row is my final product andI thought it turned out ok. I wished my photo came out a bit clearer to see but I think it turned out just fine in the end.

When looking at this article, I gave me a general idea of what I was supposed to accomplish in this assignment. When doing this assignment,I think it was kinda hard to

capture a solid color around campus. Escically on a cloudy day on campus. Overall looking at the sight helped me get a general idea of what I was supposed to do this week and I feel I didn't do as good but I am satisfied on the effort I put into this.

Texture March 19th 2020
3 Photos:                                                  Photo From Off Of Internet:

Response From Article:

When looking at the article, I came across some words that spiked my attention. I also found some of the photos posted very interesting. When doing this assignment I needed to take the photo from many different angles around the object, I knew not just one angle would look as good as the others. When doing this assignment I thought it was roughly easy, there was many object around my house that had an interesting pattern or texture that I could capture.

Photo from the internet:

Looking for the photo on the internet wasn't hard at all. There was many great and very interesting photos I came across. Most of them had a similar theme..., It all had to relate with nature. Most of them were animals and leafs, and water droplets. They were all really pretty.

When looking at the photo I picked online I wanted to point out all the colors in the leaf . You can really see the colors stand out in the leaf and the colors really grab your attention into the texture. The texture of the leaf has the same pattern and it looks very soft and neat and is quite pleasing to the eye. The yellow in the veins of the leaf also stand out because it's like the only light color. Your eyes really get drawn to the orange, the yellow and then to the texture and I love it.

When doing this assignment, I found it quite tricky. It was a very cloudy day but I had to make do with what I had at home. I wish I could take photos on the camera again, I really miss photography. I loved going out in the weather of it being just cloudy and misty outside. I found it quite hard to capture a tree to be completely honest. I didn't want any of my photos to look the same so I walks a few miles to get a few different trees and couple more positions of the trees. I thought it was a bit fun trying to find the right angle of where I should take the photo. A couple people were staring at we weirdly, but I mean, i have to get a  good photo. I loved this assignment because I got to spend time with myself and nature and It was all really calming in genral. I loved this assignment.

Creative Assignment 3-31-20

Today for this assignment I decided to do something a little fun. I was really motivated to do a painting for this class so I decided to paint a big bee and a couple flowers.

Creative Assignment and Re-creation of photo 4-2-20
Re-creation Photo                                   Water Bottle Painting

For this assignment, I decided to re-create a photo of me and my dog because it was the only picture I had when I was little on my phone. I knew my problem right away when looking at it. I noticed my dog Peach was no longer alive in the photo from when I was a baby so I had to take a photo with my dog Jet. It was hard to re create it but I made it work. I also did a small water bottle painting, I tried to put a clear coating on it so the painting could stay on but it didn't turn out too good. I liked how the lavender came out though and the bee.
